About us

The entire site is roughly 13.5 acres consisting of a mostly flat camping field, and woodland hillside. This woodland is divided up into Ancient forest and new woods.

The site run and maintained by a small committee crew who volunteer their spare time to ensure the site is kept well maintained and usable for all those that wish to stay.

The site has 4 main buildings the Bunkhouse, Wardens Hut, storage Shed and Toilet Block.

The Bunkhouse is situated in the main field with 4 bedrooms with bunks capable of sleeping 30, a hall with a built in kitchen and accessible toilets. The bunk house has a small porch running along the field side of the building.

The Warden’s Hut is a semi cylinder shape Nissan building situated next to the car park with workshop and crew sleeping facilities.

The Toilet Block is a small building with male and female separated facilities, the girls toilets also have a shower installed with plans for a shower to be installed in the gents.

At the far side of the toilet block are some newly installed washing up stations with roof covering.

We have two campfire circles the smaller one is situated between the toilet block and the main field and closest to Oak Campsite. Great for a small social fire. The larger Campfire circle can be found along the path heading South West from the buildings though the memorial entrance, great for District and Group campfires!

In the middle of the main camping field you will see the Flagpole, remembrance benches and Totem. The totem is of a Young Scout looking up at the stars. In Spring we have a small bed of daffodils planted between the flag and the benches.
